Holiday on the water<\/strong>
\nDuring a Youth Week at Het Veerse Gat we will introduce you to sailing in a fun and sporty way. During the day we will of course be on the water as much as possible, because you learn best by doing it! In the evening you will get theory lessons and you can participate in fun evening programs. Together with approx. 40 participants and our instructors you will enjoy an unforgettable holiday on the water.
\nThis age group will sail in the Valk (4 participants per boat) or in the Laser Bahia. In this fast boat you can sail together with 2 or 3 other participants.<\/p>\n

Weekly program<\/strong>
\nThe week starts on Sunday afternoon between 3 pm and half past 4 pm. At the end of the week, on Saturday morning we will organize a competition. Parents are welcome to come and take a look from 10.00 am. At 11.00 am we will close this week together. You will stay on our nicely decorated boat \u201cLinda\u201d. During the week you get to know many new people, we play great games, visit the beautiful Veere, organize an exciting evening tour and of course we will be sailing a lot as well! We will sail in Valk boats and Optimists (see \u2018boats<\/a>\u2018)<\/p>\n

Rates 2026:<\/strong>
\n\u2013 Boarder: \u20ac 745,-
\n\u2013 Nonboarder (daily 08.45 am-09.00 pm): \u20ac 700,-

Day program<\/strong>
\nOf course you are curious what the day program during a Youth Week looks like. Below you will find a short description:
\n08:00 am \u2013 08:30 am Breakfast
\n09:00 am \u2013 12:30 pm Sailing, a break at 10.30 am, often on one of the islands in the Veerse Meer
\n01:00 pm \u2013 1:45 pm Lunch (in case of nice weather picnic along the way with the entire group on one of the days
\n02:00 pm \u2013 05:30 pm Sailing, at 03.30 pm a short break along the way
\n05:30 pm \u2013 06:30 pm Relaxation
\n06:30 pm \u2013 07:00 pm Dinner
\n07:30 pm \u2013 09:00 pm. Theory lessons with followed by a fun evening activity (older youth until 10.30 pm. In case of nice weather an evening\/night tour on one of the evenings
\n09:00 pm \u2013 09:30 Tea time<\/p>\n

As you can see we will sail a lot. Our instructors try to teach you as much as possible in a fun and relaxed way. At the end of the week you may be able to obtain a CWO diploma (Keelboat, Youth Sailing, 2-man boat or dinghy).<\/p>\n

What do you need to bring?<\/strong>
\nYou must definitely not forget:
\n\u2013 Rainwear (jacket, boots and trousers)
\n\u2013 Clothes for warm and cold weather
\n\u2013 Sunglasses with cord, sun lotion, hat and swimwear
\n\u2013 Shoes (at least 2 pairs of shoes) with colorfast soles (for example sports- or boat shoes that may get wet
\n\u2013 Water shoes
\n\u2013 Toiletry
\n\u2013 Towel (at least 2)
\n\u2013 Sleeping bag and pillowcase
\n\u2013 Pocket money (10-15 Euro is more than enough)
\nThe Sailing School will provide shower coins<\/p>\n

Mobile phone<\/strong>
\nNowadays the mobile phone is very important in daily life. However, we believe you can easily do without it for a week! Sailing School Het Veerse Gat has therefore decided not to allow mobile phones. Instructors can always be reached for safety on the water and will take plenty of pictures. Would you like to call your parents? In consultation with the staff you may use our phone during tea time (09.00 pm \u2013 09.30 pm). If parents would like to know how their kids our doing? Wetsuit<\/strong>
\nFor safety reasons you must wear a wetsuit during sailing lessons in the Laser Bahia. It is also possible to bring your own wetsuit during the sailing week. You can also borrow one from the sailing school. If you want to borrow a wetsuit, please mention it on the registration form inclusive of size (rent is included in the price).<\/p>\n
